Section of Greenhill Road closed due to sinkhole

Urgent Sewer Repair Works on Greenhill Road, Paisley (Last updated: 21 July 2026)

We are carrying out urgent repair work on Greenhill Road following the collapse of a sewer pipe which resulted in a sinkhole forming outside No. 121 Greenhill Road.

The repair is necessary to maintain flows within the wastewater network and help protect nearby homes and businesses from the risk of flooding.

Due to the depth of the sewer, which is approximately 4.5 metres below ground level, a significant excavation is required to access and repair the damaged pipe. To allow the work to be carried out safely, a section of Greenhill Road is closed to traffic, with diversions in place.

Residents will continue to have access to their properties throughout the works, although access to some driveways may be restricted at times. Our teams will work closely with those affected to minimise disruption wherever possible.

A reminder that all businesses in the area are open as usual, including The Grub Hub which is directly behind our works.

The works are expected to take at least four weeks to complete, although this will be kept under review as the repair progresses.

We would like to thank the local community for their patience and understanding while these essential repairs are carried out.
