What To Expect
We’re planning to install around seven kilometres of new pipe to connect homes and businesses in Lochportain, Cheesebay and Hoebeg to the public water supply.
We expect work to get underway from around Monday 11 May 2026, starting with the set-up of our site compound.
To allow us to set this up safely, temporary traffic lights will be in place on the A865. We’ve included a map below to show where the compound will be located and where the lights will be.
Once the compound is in place, we’ll begin installing the new water main. Most of the work will take place in the roadside verge, but there will be some points where we need to cross the road. Temporary traffic lights will first be used near the A865 junction towards Lochportain. As work progresses through Lochportain, Cheesebay and Hoebeg, we’ll use stop-and-go boards to help manage traffic.
We understand this work may cause some short-term disruption, and we’d like to thank you for your patience and support while we carry out this important upgrade.
