What We Are Doing

We are carrying out essential sewer repair and upgrade work in Musselburgh to help reduce the risk of future flooding and improve the resilience of the local wastewater network.

The work, which involves diverting and replacing 70 meters of sewer network on Market Street, will begin from Monday, 24 August and is expected to last approximately four weeks.

A road closure will be required for the duration of the works to ensure the safety of both the workforce and the public.

However, we will complete the work in phases, and under a moving road closure, to help minimise disruption to local residents and businesses. A plan showing the proposed phasing can be viewed on this webpage.

We'd like to thank residents and road users for their patience and understanding while we carry out this essential work.
