Emergency Sewer Works - Aviemore
Emergency Sewer Works in Aviemore
We’ll shortly be carrying out emergency works at the Aviemore Centre Sewage Pumping Station (SPS) on Dalfaber Road, PH22 1PY, which are required to protect the operation of the local sewer network.
To allow the works to be carried out safely and as quickly as possible, a small section of Dalfaber Road will be closed. This will be in place from Thursday, 15 May and will remain in place until Monday, 18 May.
While the closure is necessary for safety reasons, our teams will stand down and demobilise on Saturday and Sunday to help minimise disruption where possible. While this will be the overall period for the closure, traffic management will only be in operation when required. Advanced signage will also be in place to notify road users of the closure.
What to expect:
- Pedestrian and cyclist access will be maintained at all times
- Access to the Heritage Railway Centre car park will remain open throughout
- Temporary road closure will be in place for a short period to allow the work to be carried out safely
- Restrictions lifted on Saturday and Sunday to minimise disruption
We’ll do everything we can to minimise disruption and thank you for your patience while we complete this important maintenance work.
This work represents the first stage in addressing the asset. Further activity is likely to be required later in June and July to continue repairs to the pumping station. We are also planning a separate investigation at a manhole on Dalfaber Road, with short-term traffic management required for this. Details of this will be shared once confirmed.
