Project status prepare

Project Overview

We are upgrading the wastewater network in Clarkston to help reduce the risk of sewer flooding in the area by increasing the capacity of the local wastewater network and providing extra storage during heavy rainfall.

Work to prepare the site will begin from Monday 1 June and the overall project is expected to last approximately 12 months.

Roadworks will be required during this time to allow operatives to carry out the work safely.

What We Are Doing

This project will involve the installation of a new pipeline as well as the construction of a new storm overflow tank.

The programme of work is expected to be completed within 12 months. Roadworks will be required during this time to allow operatives to carry this work out safely. Dates are subject to change and any changes to the work schedule will be communicated in advance.

Please note that the start date for site set-up has changed. Work to prepare the site will now begin from Monday 1 June, rather than Monday 18 May as previously advised.

Once underway, the work will require a phased road closure on Moray Drive. This will start at number 18 and move gradually towards the junction with Stamperland Gardens as the works progress.

Why We Are Doing It

When completed, the project will significantly reduce the risk of sewer flooding in the area by increasing the capacity of the local wastewater network and providing extra storage during heavy rainfall.
