Why We Are Doing It
NHS Lanarkshire is to build a new state-of-the-art replacement for University Hospital Monklands on a site at Wester Moffat in Airdrie.
To support the new hospital, the surrounding sewer network requires upgrading.
Update December 2025
As the work is mainly taking place in woodland, we have carried out a range of required environmental surveys and inspections.
These included tree aerial inspections for bats and their roosts and arboricultural surveys to assess any potential risks and determine tree management strategies.
Site investigations at all seven locations have been completed to allow detailed design and planning to be progressed.
Trees have been checked for bats and their roosts
Arboricultural surveys have also been carried out
