Sewer network repairs

Work will take place beneath the railway near King Street car park

We are planning to carry out essential sewer network repairs beneath the railway near King Street car park in Inverkeithing.

These works are critical to maintaining and improving the reliability of the local infrastructure and ensuring the long-term efficiency of the sewer network.

To comply with railway safety requirements and minimise disruption to daytime rail services, the work will be carried out overnight, likely between 22:00hrs and 08:00hrs. In an effort to mitigate disruption to residents, the work will only be carried out over one or two nights a week, until completion.

We fully appreciate that night-time construction can be disruptive and that the associated noise may cause inconvenience. Please be assured that every effort will be made to keep noise levels as low as possible. However, due to the nature of the work and the equipment required, some noise will unfortunately be unavoidable.

We’d like to thank the community for their patience and understanding in advance.

Update - February 2026

Further to our last update in December, this work is still being planned with the relative stakeholders, which means that it will now be going ahead later than originally anticipated. The exact dates for starting the work will be communicated in due course.
