Smithycroft Hamilton
Our operatives have identified a further burst on the rising sewer main on Smithycroft which requires immediate repair work.
This burst was identified during the reinstatement process on Friday 17 April, following completion of the previous repairs.
In order to carry out these repairs, materials and machinery are being mobilised to be taken to site to begin work on the repair as quickly as possible.
The area is being securely fenced off and we will contact customers living nearby to make sure they are aware of what is happening.
Tankers are running 24 hours a day to stop flows spilling from the pumping station into the nature reserve. Pumps are set up in the car park and tankers will be parked on the road approaching the car park.
As was the case previously, spaces remain available within the car park for public use and noise prevention barriers are in place to help minimise disruption to residents. However, due to the nature of the work and the equipment required, some noise will unfortunately be unavoidable.
We understand that the need to carry out further repairs will be frustrating for residents and thank everyone impacted for their patience and understanding while our teams carry these essential works out safely.
